Basic Mechanical Assembly

Mechanical assembly fixtures and tooling to provide operator aids and controlled assembly process. “Poke-Yoke” techniques used to eliminate risk of incorrect assembly.

Manual Assembly with Integrated Test

Custom station for assembly and process control on automotive door interior panels. Torque reporting screwdrivers, component present sensing and “Poke-Yoke” controls to ensure a correct and repeatable process. Integrated barcode reading for build sequence information and confirmation of variant dependant components. Full PC control with LCD monitor for operator interface.

Automated Assembly and Test

Semi-automatic station with "Load and Go" operation. Component parts manually loaded and the cycle initiated by the operator. The assembly, with full control, is completed and the finished product presented to the operator to unload. Optional integration of in-process testing of sub assembly. Designed with the future in mind, the equipment is normally based upon an agreed standard structure with bespoke tooling mounted on easy change locations.

End of Line test and calibration

A fully integrated functional test and calibration of the sub assembly including performance testing and recording of critical data. Full product traceability via individual Barcode identification and SPC data storage. Equipment based upon a “generic” platform with product specific tooling designed for ease of changeover. This provides a cost efficient mechanism for mulit-use of the equipment or for re-deployment at the end of an individual product life.

Flexible Manufacturing Cell

A full step by step manufacturing cell comprising several individual stations. Each station specifically designed for the required task but based upon a standardised layout to meet with individual customer requirements. Stations range from simple “Poke-Yoke” mechanical assembly to semi-automatic assembly and test of both components and sub-assemblies. The use of “Lean” manufacturing philosophy makes this arrangement ideal for fluctating output demands. The ability to add or withdraw manufacturing operatives provides a cost effective mechanism for adjusting output volume.

Analogue Radio Tuner Alignment Tester

A fully integrated self-contained rig typically in 19” rack format with product specific fixtures. Key features:
Performs alignment or calibration of tuner module within radio.
Uses a combination of voltage probe measurements, in-built algorithms and tester software algorithms to optimise the tunner performance.
Parametric testing to ensure audio circuits are viable before radio is built into case assembly.

Analogue Radio Functional Tester

A Fully integrated self-contained rig typically in 19” rack format with product specific fixtures. Key features:
Performs production level parametric testing on fully built radios.
Tester controls proprietary RF generator and audio analyser.
Single or multi-nest for optimised throughput.
All test definitions and limits are user defined in simple menus.

Analogue Radio Fault Diagnosis Tester

A fully integrated self-contained rig typically in 19” rack format with product specific fixtures. Key features:
Designed to evaluate and determine failure modes during production.
Provides all the hardware necessary for evaluating the radio performance.
User interface is designed for engineers and technicians to stimulate and measure the radio as necessary.

Radio Burn In Rig Exerciser

A fully integrated self-contained rig, typically in 19” rack format with product specific fixtures. Key features:
Multiple radio units controlled and stimulated simultaneously over extended periods.
Programmable temperature and humidity profiles for use in environmental chamber testing.
Programmable duration and cycle frequency from minutes to several hours RF is fed to radios continuously.
Basic measurements of radio output taken each minute to ensure radios continue to work throughout the cycle.

Quality Control Functional Testers

A fully integrated self-contained rig, typically in 19” rack format with product specific fixtures. Key features:
Perfom a full set of parametric tests to the design specification.
Extended fixture lead means radio or cluster can be tested inside environmental chamber.
Test performed, test parameters and test limits are all user-defined in simple menus.

DAB Exercisers

A functional exerciser tester for a DAB receiver. A range of RF and audio tests are performed using optical MOST communications. The parts under test are placed in an environmental chamber to simulate a range of climate conditions. The rig could test up to 6 recievers simultaneously.

Satelite Downlink Module:Tuner and Module Tester

Modules intended to receive satellite transmissions of audio and video for In-Car Entertainment systems are tested in two specific stages. The tuner section is tested in this type of tester using a suitable RF generator and spectrum analyser. A separate tester performs the testing of the overall module functionality including audio signal quality and antenna control circuits.

Bluetooth Radio Interface Module

Within many modern cars there is a module designed to interface a Bluetooth receiver to the main car radio. This tester performs a range of functional tests on a module of this type. The tester includes a Bluetooth transceiver simulator, and audio signal generator and an audio analyser. An audio signal is generated and passed through the Bluetooth system in both directions and then analysed for signal quality. The sensitivity of the Bluetooth transceiver within the module is also tested.

Climate Control

A fully intergrated self-contained rig based on an enclosed rotary table with automatic test stations and manual load/unload. Performs production level parametric testing on climate control modules. Simulation of In-Car load conditions. Display and buttons checked by vision system. Rotary test station concept for optimised throughout.

Traceability

All results are stored in the factory traceability database.
